The part about revenue stroking ego while profit evaporated is somethnig I saw play out with a SaaS client last year who scaled to seven figures but was underwater operationally. What really caught me is the physical toll (ulcers IBS) because most people dont talk about how chronic stress literaly rewires your decision making until its too late.
